A voice disorders can be caused by many factors. In some cases, the cause

of a voice disorder is not known.

 

Possible causes can include:

• Growths

• Inflammation and swelling

• Neurological related (e.g., strokes, secondary to traumatic brain injuries)

• Hormones

• Vocal misuse

• Lifestyle changes ( e.g., Vocal naps, adopting vocal hygiene

       techniques, hydrate)​

• Speech Therapy

• Medication/Medical Intervention where necessary
